Default Baking, a relaxing pass time

After living alone for a few years and doing my own cooking my girlfriend encouraged me to try baking and now I love doing it. Here’s the two things I’ve done last few days, my old mum’s birthday cake and today an apple pie

No soggy bottoms either. Brilliant! Just like mixing concrete really but tastes better!

Love cooking but never tried baking, maybe because I'm not a great one for sweet stuff. Always fancied making a rice pudding though, remember my mother making them with sultanas etc . . . . apart from the time she forgot to put rice in it! My father and I sitting in great anticipation, ready to fight over the skin, only to be presented with a bowl of hot milk with sultanas floating it it

Looks lovely, I used to do a good “clootie dumpling” when I had some spare time.
My missus is very good with the tray bakes and when does them ( like yesterday ) my boys are not long in calling in for a visit.
