Looking on rimmers parts list, the ZT has the same suspension, JK green/white, JL green/blue and JM Green/gray.
Would K be the softest and M the stiffest ?

I don't believe it does Pete. If you look at the damper (shock absorber) list and scroll down to parts specifically listed as MG ZT & ZT-T, you'll see that they have completely different part numbers and two letter codes.

So do you reckon that K is the softest and M being firmer ?

Can the top mount knock ? Is it worth trying before I go for new shocks ?

It's impossible to say. If you look at the on-line catalogues of shock absorber manufacturers (I've seen Delphi on a ZT-T) you'll find details of various types.
