Belts Change

My 2003 CDTI is still on its original belts and has covered 113000 miles, there are no signs of ware, so is there a recommended replacement mileage on these.

90Kmiles, so should have been changed long ago. Apparent wear is not a good indicator of when they might snap. The shorter a/c belt shows more sign of wear and what you don't want is to be stuck at the side of the road for around £24 for the pair.

I have a free for loan spanner, which is essential to do the job, if needed.

It can be a bit of a struggle and really needs two, but otherwise straight forward and DIY'able - assuming you can get the front of the car raised. There is not much room between pulleys and the inner wing, otherwise it would be easy.

I'd change them every 5 years or so, however I usually do them whenever I buy a CDTi as any downtime would be a bit of a disaster.

I now sell a kit with both the A/C belt and auxiliary belt included - handy as they're both next to each other, and the A/C belt is often ignored until it snaps.
Here's the kit: A/C and Auxiliary Drive Belt Kit

Simply select the option to have both belts from the drop down - the current price is £19.99 inc P+P. It's not too bad of a job, it takes me about 30/45 minutes.
