No need to apologise!
Was your car built after 15th January 2003? The wiring loom changed at this point, so perhaps the colours did too? I would personally have the two black with red stripe joining together. Is there definitely wiring on the other side of the connector block at the base of the A pillar?

Just a question about placement, I measured the 381mm and placed the box on the lining just to see if it looked right and it seems to be more in the back than the front? I measured a few times to make sure it was at 381mm, I measured the square box and taped paper to the back of it to find the center on the box, I then put a hole in the paper to represent the middle put it back on the lining where I had marked the 381mm and it still looked more to the rear. Am I missing something?

Hi, the measurement I gave from the rear interior lamp was taken from another car that had the sensor fitted from new, so it would be the correct position.
I suspect it is a bit further towards the back due to some cars having a sunroof.

Makes sense, thanks just making sure before I cut I suppose it then covers the rear window in case it's smashed in.

Just finished installing the square box sensor seems to work without a T4 but will get it checked anyway.

Good stuff)
I think you are the second person, after me, to do this for the later square type sensor.

Very nice!
I just found out that some bits are ridiculously cheap on Rimmers at this time. The Sandstone Beige cover is only £0.44 and the lower retainer is £0.82. The upper retainer is not available, though. And a new ultrasonic sensor is expensive of course (£150.80). (On the other hand, the "toblerone" one is all-in-one and only £25.52) I would've ordered the cover with retainers and installed it as a dummy until I found a second hand sensor, but postage is silly £20 to Estonia EDIT: I can't figure out Rimmers' pricing policy. The EWS bracket bolts I ordered last month were à £0.07 and now they're £5.11

Can anyone please confirm that the "toblerone" and BMW type sensor both use the same connector? And that BMW sensor, part number 65758379938 (8379938, 8 379 938), fits our Rovers?
I'm planning to add the ultrasonic sensor and auto-dimming rear view mirror wiring to my Tourer's headlining loom.

I can confirm that the BMW sensor 65758379938 (8379938, 8 379 938) or however it is supposed to be, does work in our cars. It appears to be the same apart from the parts sticker only.
