You will be stationary in the picture anyway, as it is a still picture.

It all comes down to “Give Way” or “Stop” as dotted lines are “cross, if it is safe to do so” and solid lines (like the ones in the middle of the road to stop overtaking) or the ones at level crossings, mean that you should not cross them, unless otherwise directed.
It seems that you gave way rather than stopping behind the line.
Sorry mate, it is just the way that I see it, and these cameras only see the situation as “rules is rules”.

Having said that, as you are a Rover 75 bod, I might smuggle in a file inside a cake for you.

Most red light cameras 'double' flash a split second after the first snap to determine if you were actually moving....you might be lucky!

It did,I had actually stopped more or less at the line, but took my foot of the brake, and car must have rolled forward on to the line, triggering the camera, only hope that brake lights show in the picture.

If you do get a ticket, you should get the option to appeal it. But if you appeal it, and they decide you have to pay, then I think that the cost may be more, as it takes a few weeks for them to decide, by which time the reduction for quick payment will have expired.
Also the notice of intended prosecution (thats the official name for the notice from the Police) should be issued by the police within 14 days - if it's sent out later than this, then you can refuse to accept it as it time barred. - http://www.nopenaltypoints.co.uk/doe...n-14-days.html

If you appeal send the appeal recorded delivery then you have dated proof of posting

You DO NOT loose the rigut o pay at the reduced rate, this goes for parking tickets too however i find it unlikely that you will get a reduced rate as im pretty sure its a fixed penalty or court.

Oops i forgot - its a fine of £60 and 3 points im afraid.

if they go ahead with the NIP,I will opt to go to court, and explain the situation to the magistrate,I hope this will go in my favor,as I was aware the crossing was covered by the camera,so to deliberately, try and cross while red light showing would have been plain stupid.
my mate bought a new van a couple of years back, and transferred the ins from his old one on to the new,old van went for scrap,he took it to the scrapyard himself, whilst sitting in the q to get in,a cop car with npr picked it up.
He explained to the policeman what the situation was,and he thought he was still covered for a few days on the old van, policeman accepted his explanation, but told him the case would still proceed,as it was in the system.
He did advise my mate to go to court, and explain the situation to the beak,in the hope that they would take in to account his clean record, and good character etc, he did, admitted that technically he was guilty, but he hadn't realised the insurance was no longer held on his old van.
They accepted his explanation, and dismissed the case, with no costs,I'm hoping for the same,as it was a genuine mistake,I got too close to the line, and rolled over it.

Personally, I think you are reading to much into the camera flashing and likely you will not even receive a NIP.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.
