Default I Pad recommendation

My wife wants an IPad at a reasonable price, about 300 quid, any ideas.

Hi Julien,

The main things to consider are which size iPad she wants.
There are three sizes although the largest is way over budget.
Then it's down to whether you want 3G (not worth it in my opinion as you can always tether to your phone anyhow) and how much onboard memory you want.
Remember you can store stuff to the cloud or external hard drive for backing up so not as important as you might think.

There's not much discounting to be had from Apple products so work out the above and you will know what model you want and whether it comes in on or around your budget

And of course, is definitely an ipad as opposed to a tablet?
Lots of Android tablets out there too

I have an IPad Air, 16 gb, but there is now an Air 2, which I thought might be okay, just fishing for peoples thoughts.

Many Thanks.

Pretty sure John Lewis are doing a 3 year warranty on these, I also have a 16gb air and as you know with the os and a few apps you are left with around 6.5gb of storage which means only 1 Hd film if it's downloaded onto the iPad.

As I only use mine indoors with wifi all my films and music is in the cloud, I don't know if it's a big enough jump to pay the extra for a air2 over an air.

Nowadays people say iPad in the same way as hoover. It's like me saying I want to buy a Ford, but what I mean is I want to buy a car...

For what it's worth Mrs Tenesmus loves her iPad mini, I got her one because she already had an iPhone. If she had eg a Samsung phone I'd have got her a Samsung tablet, and so on.

I've had iPhones since the 3G and on my second iPad it's the iPad 2 with 128gb but no 3G, as Jeff stated there's no point. Carole my partner also had the phone and pad and we both have the Apple Watch and never in all those years had a problem

No problems whatsoever with our three iPads or any of my friends that own them

Or our iPhones or my iMac

Don't get the 16gb one, memory will be full in no time.
