I will be shot down in flames for recommending these by the "they are the only thing between you and the road brigade" but I have Nankangs on mine and so far they have been good all round. If you are a sensible driver and not the kind of person that wants to take the car to it's limits on corners they appear to be perfect for the job. I haven't found or came close to finding any ditches and they grip as much as i have ever needed them to in the wet. I live in the sticks in the north east of Scotland and drive mainly on country roads and they have handled everything thrown at them including hard stops for Deer on the road.
Tyres from the far east have moved on in terms of quality over the past few years and if you are on a budget then you are on a budget! |

I use evergreens from halfords £87 each fitted. Much better than the Australian made altenzo's.
if you book them online they are cheaper than instore. Halfords fit hundreds of evergreens every week, i originally opted for the altenzo's but they didnt have them in stock so supplied and fitted the more expensive evergreens for the altenzo price the same day. cant argue with that! Goodyear
I just bought Goodyear efficient grip after much deliberation
They were rated highly by auto trader. Check the black dot details economy/ grip in wet/ decibels! I test drove a club on newish goodyears and the noise was deafening. So decibels was important to me. They're in the post so yet to know eBay deal. |

Literally just ordered a set of 4 of these from here.
http://www.valuetyres.co.uk/tyre/bra...000XL/id/19912 Not tried them before, but an extremely reasonable fitted price IMO. I've had Conti M3, Falkens, Vredestein, and Avons. Contis were obviously the best, Vredestein and Avons pretty good. Falken FK453 seem to lack traction under accelaration when pulling away, so not very impressed with those. Tyre traders were only a touch dearer, and was hoping to get them fitted using their mobile fitting option, but no option in my area. Last edited by Typhoon190; 26th April 2014 at 20:13.. |

These will be my next set of tyres - especially at the price. My thinking is, if they are good in the wet then they are a good tyre... - They have good reviews on other sites too....

I couldn't comprehend buying what is arguably one of the best handling front wheel drive cars ever produced and then fitting rubbish tyres that mean you are always scared of giving it the beans because you know the car is going to slip from underneath you at the slightest hint of moisture on the road Last edited by Howey; 26th April 2014 at 22:05.. |

The tyres I am going to buy are "Imperial Ecodriver Sport" but I have had Nexens and do rate them highly too...
