Default MOT Fail Suspension Joint - Question

My car failed the MOT yesterday on what is stated as 'Suspension Joint - movement excessive - nearside front, outer lower'

I've looked at the diagrams on Rimmers site but I'm still not clear on which part I need. It is the 'outer, lower' description that confuses me.

Is there a more generic description for this part or can anyone give me a linky to what I need.

On a positive note the MOT tester commented on what a decent car it was for the miles and that the Rover 75s / MG ZTs are a much better car than most people think... sure we already know that, that's why we drive them

Thx

I concur, you need a nearside front wishbone. Don't forget you will probably destroy the bush taking out the wishbone so best practice to replacethat at the same time. Here's the part from DMGRS

I've just ordered the same parts from ECP, "Valentine's Day" sale til midnight Sunday up to 50% off, lower arm and bush for £90.60. That's less than the pre sale club discount price was going to be.

Has anybody any views on whether these arms could be reconditioned with new ball-pins? I think a lot of cars with a similar layout have a replaceable ball joint. Obviously, the arm would need modifying/machining, to take a proprietary ball joint, either bolted in position, or located in the cavity by, for example, a cotter pin, or a tapered fit and back-nut fixing. Just a thought!

I recently purchased an arm from this company on ebay and it was very good quality and a bit cheaper than mgrover part.

That's E-Car Parts, nothing to do with Euro Car Parts. Confusing though!

OP, I have the bush and arm available - quality aftermarket parts too, so you'll get a good life out of them.

Might be worth reading this, and check if the hub pinch bolt is tight, as I guess this could lead to "excessive movement"
