I needed a new car and decided (based on the suggestion from a friendly stranger on another forum that I frequent) on a Zt-T. That guy had said there is a good and helpful community, so a bit of Googling and I found this. Been super-helpful, without my long thread I would have gone straight for a 1.8 petrol when the diesel really is the right answer for me, so it's been helpful already.

I never knew, but hardly surprising!
I have been largely out of touch with events in the UK for almost ten years, having departed her shores in late 2003 to work in the far-east. Then in 2008 I had to return for an undetermined length of time as my father was seriously ill and not expected to survive for very long. I decided at this time that it would be best for me to buy some transportation rather than rely on public transport.
My first thought was I need something reliable so I immediate started thinking German, maybe an Audi A4 or something. Well I looked at one in a local showroom but was not overly impressed with it, but parked next to it was a very nice Rover 75 top spec CDT. Having never owned a turbo diesel I was a little reluctant remembering to old noisy smelly pre-turbo's, but this was something completely different. After a quick test drive this highly refined car became my property. Sadly my stay in the UK was only until shortly after my father died five months after purchasing this wonderful vehicle. Why didn't I join the club back in 2008,.. well I didn't know one existed! This is why I did not join all those year ago, but now I am doing things properly, I've joined, soon I will be back in the UK to stay, and then comes the fun part I need to shop for a new 75, but this time a CDTi auto transmission. Wish me luck. |

Google for me. Forums really can add to the ownership experience. This forum however seems to be one of the best!

I first saw this site several years ago, was considering a 75 when I bought my last car, but ended up with a Volvo...
Been reading & picking up useful info again recently and used the info to find a very nice ZT 180 auto, had it a few weeks and very happy so far. I have to say the amount of useful info about these cars, and helpful friendly advice from members is incredible. A tribute to all you regulars who clearly care about these cars and people getting the best from them. I've never been part of a car owners forum, either I'm getting old or there is something special about this place Chris |
