There are a number of things that you could do. But it would be unprofessional for me to state them.
Other things to consider would be to ensure the intercooler hoses are sound ensure the intercooler is empty and clear of oil. Clean inlet manifold and map sensor. If it still smokes badly after fitting new air filter and pc filter, maybe your MAF sensor is out of range possibly causing over fuelling. So simply disconnect it.

Hmm, really??

I'm sure you will find that your car will pass the limit on the VIN plate, if it doesn't, there will be cobs of coal falling out of the exhaust pipe.

I'm looking at the MOT emission test for the ZT.......

0il temp 85

Peak 1 0.25 m-1

Zero Drift 0.00 PASS max 0.10

Average 0.25

MOT test Result

Fast Pass 0.25 m-1 PASS max 1.50

So, how was this achieved? the car is serviced correctly, however on the run to the testing station, once up to temperature, I tend to run at 4500 RPM for 3/4 of a mile or so to blow the cobwebs out

There will be no problem for a well maintained car to pass the emission test, so if you are worried it won't pass, you should be asking yourself what can be done to make this happen, rather than obfuscating the makers plate value.

This post wont help, but get yourself a VW Audi BMW Mercedes Skoda diesel auto. As most of these have a rev limiter so low, and the traction control activation wont allow the engine to rve past 2500 rpm !
They still cheat the system in my opinion !
But the Germans always have their own rules that we have to deal with daily !

If it's any help, Tarquin has a similar mileage to yours and achieved an emissions rating of 0.02. The only thing I did before then was give it a service and a quick Italian tune up.

Just wanted to also add, when a vehicle has bits removed, or unusual stuff going on for a test, the tester is more likely to be more strict.

Cars presented with all the seat belts (Plugged into the stalks) makes me wonder what is wrong with :

A, the person who drives about like that
B, trying to make it too easy to overlook a fault that is a clear fail.

Had a car presented this week as above, and found one seat belt with a huge cut in the webbing ! So perhaps they wanted me to miss this by applying all the belts in the fastened fashion for me to not bother checking ? After all who drives a car with them done up like that ?

Items affecting the drivers view of the road is another one that tries to hide windscreen damage, among countless other defects I could mention that are tried on by many a presenter.

So to sum-up present a decent well maintained and fairly clean car and your chances will be more than fair.

Removing the vin plate will be a no-no for me.

Hi Everybody
Just an update My car passed MOT just needed a rear shocker as they said it had a oil leak,In the end i just put abit of Redex in tank and gave it good run.
My Emissions figures were
Engine temp tested at 71. c tested at below 80. c
Test Limit Applied 1.00 1/m
Absorption coefficient 0.46 1m 3550 1/min Zero drift 0.00 1/m
Absorption coefficient after correction 0.46 1/m
Test type applied Fast Pass
Test result Pass

So are these figures showing a well cared for engine ?

thanks everybody im pleased another year Whoop Whoop.

It's the figure by itself in a box to the right of the trim code, ie the bottom right hand side, 1.33
