Question Wedgwood Blue Dealer Launch Cars

Are there any members here who own a 1999 registered Wedgwood Blue Connoisseur 2.5 V6 on a T or V plate, with EXACTLY the following spec:

Neptune Blue Personal Line Leather Interior
Cruise Control
Electric Sunroof
Driver's Memory Seat
Traction Control
Electric Rear Sunblind
High Line Sat Nav inc. TV
Headlamp Power Wash
Hi-line Message Centre instrument pack & trip computer
15 inch Crown Alloy wheels (or possibly 17 inch Serpent Alloys)

But DO NOT have:
Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror
Reversing Sensors
& Harmon Kardon Premium Audio Upgrade

I ask this because in another recent thread Sydneymj wrote this:

and it would appear that at least two members on here have exactly that spec of car, and both have very close VIN numbers.

It has been a puzzle to me for a long time that a collegue of mine's Wedgwood Blue Connoisseur SE, has everything it should have to make it an SE (according to the brochures), except for the missing reversing sensors & auto dimming rear view mirror.

If it turns out that he owns a dealer launch/demo CONNOISSEUR with the SE extras of:

Memory Seat
Cruise Control
Electric Rear Sunblind
Hi Line Message Centre instrument pack with trip computer

And optional extras of:

Electric Sunroof
Headlamp Power Wash
High Line Sat Nav
Traction Control
& Neptune Blue Interior

that would explain why this hybrid spec existed, as MG Rover could have specifically optioned these cars for launch purposes.

Can anyone else say if their car's match the above, so we can confirm all this please:lol:

Default What about the VIN numbers?

That's excellent news, any chance of getting the last 4 digits of the VIN numbers, to see where these cars fall within the range of each other.

So far have found VIN ....2280 (and 66 cars off the line later) ....2346.

I understand it as this, ( but I could be wrong, it has been known)

last 6 digits.

000001 are the prelaunch numbers

100001 are post launch numbers so mine is post launch (1) no 886 (100886)

That is why I've queried the four figure numbers shown by Reebs.

002280 would be pre launch whilst 102280 would be post ( I think)

Yes sorry, to be clear I should have written:

1st Car VIN = 102280
2nd Car VIN = 102346

Thanks for supplying yours stocktake.

So in theory, the potential number of Wedgwood launch cars all of the same spec (assuming there weren't any other models rolling off the production line intermingled with them) is 102346-100886 = 1,460 so far....

I'm assuming that each dealer ship would have had one or two.
They were not going to send 30 Wedgewood blue cars to one dealership where they?
So, assuming the above is true as each car appears it should be easy to identify what dealership it was used at,therefore, if every dealership had one car then it should be fairly easy to work out how many are "missing".

My car was at Priests of Chesham.
