Arranged for it to go into the garage tomorrow for the crankshaft pulley to be changed, may not be done until Wednesday as they are busy.

They were happy to fit my pulley provided it is a genuine oem part.

Estimated price is about £55 plus the VAT, so not too bad....

Had a drive out today and visited Tom Hobbs to let him give the sills on my tourer the once over. Just the usual sill rot and easily fixed so my appointment was made for me to return in 3 weeks for the repairs to be made. Just the train tickets to book to get home and back to collect once done .

Great stuff, glad to hear Tom is getting back up to speed.

He said the thieves must have just tipped the contents of his toolbox and other tools into big bags and ran only leaving the heavy stuff He was busy making panels for a van and said he has a few 75's booked in for sill repairs this month so hopefully we can get him some money in the bank to get sorted.

Noticed a tick.. tick... at idle and looked at the auxillary belt (KV6) which was curling up at the edges and shedding bits, imminent failure I thought. Local factors had one so I've fitted it.
Reason for failure of this 6 month old belt is loss of power steering fluid out of the filler cap vent pipe pouring over the front of the engine. I've been unable to find the cause. Have bought a length of plastic pipe to extend this vent to a catch tank to prevent this and stop the puddles on the drive.
Any suggestions on this issue please pm me

Gave Willy’s cabin and boot a quick sweep through today, sadly only found 5p, no pound coins of notes though did find a generous selection of spare bulbs.

Put the clutch pedal rubber back on the pedal.

Found a manual for a Pioneer stereo in the glovebox and then replaced the non-working Volkswagen (???) stereo with a spare Sony Bluetooth stereo I had lying around.

Just rolled over 100,000 miles. I've done almost 35k of them in the past 3 years. I reckon it still qualifies as low mileage for year....

Missed getting a photo :¬(

Finished this job today and now have a tube from the power steering tank cap vent hole to a catch tank (plastc bottle) lodged in the rear RH corner of the engine bay. Hopefully no more fluid soaked belts and oil patches on the drive.
Only problem was being unable to disconnect the ABS plug/socket to get the wing liner out. Plug (on the main loom) now disintegrated.
