Default Mk2 Xenon headlights in non-xenon car?

Are Mk2 xenon headlights interchangeable with normal headlights. Is the wiring (plug & pin setting) the same and is the manual height setting still working?
Just a question before buying a set of xenons.

Regards.

They are if you are replacing MK2 for MK2, otherwise you will need a MK2 bumper!

Yes like for like as trikey says providing your car is a mk2.

Thumb wheel will also work to manually adjust the level.

The MOT might be the problem as headlamp wash is supposed to be fitted to cars fitted with Xenon headlights.

nope not needed in UK mainland, although I think they are needed in Ireland and Northern Ireland as rules are different.

Fitting factory xenon headlights to a 75/ZT which originally had halogen headlights will pass an MOT. There is no requirement for headlamp washers or self-levelling suspension. The test criteria only states that the headlamp washers and self-levelling must be working IF fitted. There's no requirement to check if headlamp washers or self-levelling has been fitted where xenon headlights have been fitted.

In fact cars prior to 2009 are exempt from the headlamp washers test. So our cars should never fail for headlamp washers even if they're not working
