Don't do enough miles to worry, but always use Shell V power.

Been using Asda cheapie juice since I have had the car. Problems up to now, nowt. All my diesels have run on cheapie fuel, since around Jurassic times. No problems encountered.

Am no fan of cheap rubbish like this for sake few pence

Lesson learned hard way as normal

Lucky some people don't have any problems at all some do I guess just wanted people's opinions thanks
My fleet use the proper fuels too, they tell me when I have committed the crime of using (Value for money fuels) but this seldom happens unless an emergency requires me to commit such a sin.
I am aware that many will argue it to the end of time, but I know from owning a vast range of vehicles over many years that proper fuels provide proper stable running both on high performance and lesser cars.

A good point.

I ran a 1972 Rover P6 3500S for many years. Those high compression engines were meant to run on 5 star which was 100 octane.

I would add Esso Supreme to his list, as, unlike many other premium fuels, it is not a diluted down cocktail, containing ethanol.
As ethanol has an octane rating of around 113, it is handy contamination to boost the "book figures" of the other so called "premium fuels".

He wont use Esso after seeing a Tesco tanker filling the tanks at our local Esso petrol station.

Maybe it was a one off or they share tankers but after having trouble with Tesco fuel it is off his list.

As stated last time the premium brands add their own additive. Tesco use Esso but it doesn't have the same additive as the branded petrol.

Didn't Tesco and Esso formed a partnership some years ago, this meant some of Tesco's forecourts are owned and operated by Esso.

The British distributor Greenergy blends fuels for the best part of the UK anyway, and pretty much all supermarket fuels come from their terminals.

I think Tesco took on the franchise of the convenience store side within Esso forecourts.

I always use Sainsbury's diesel.
Plus they have free air for doing your tyres, Tesco's charges for this.

Plus I get nectar points.

I fill up at Costco, 121.9 per litre for premium diesel.

When it comes to diesel, I've never noticed any difference wherever I fill up.

For the petrol owners, both 1800, and V6 models is all state of tune are optimised for 95 RON fuel.

Basically if you want to feel better and think performance is greatly enhanced, use 98 RON fuel, otherwise 95 RON is fine.
