Sorry to hear of whats happened to your mum & dad.

Guess the line of work I'm in makes me somewhat immune to what people can do to other human beings.

I sometimes think that Sharia Law should be implemented in this country. It might disuade some people from embarking on a criminal lifestyle. Plus it would give the victims of crime a sense of proper justice.

Really sorry to hear this David, I hope they are able to come to terms with it, I suffered the same fate a few years ago and it was the fact that someone had been in my house that was the hardest

Sorry to hear about your parents mishap David. Hopefully this will be behind them soon. Good thing they were not there when it happened. Some of these low life creatures can get very nasty, especially with the elderly

Sorry to hear that David

Did they do anything in preparation on the house prior to hols?

Close curtains and leave lights on in hallways etc.
Local Bobby tells us this is an advert that you're away.

Timer switches scattered around the house, last time I looked on e-bay 4 for £6. But that was a while ago...... Get a neighbour, friend, relative etc to open and close curtains or park their second car in your driveway (if you have one).....

The only other option is a house-sitter.......... Seriously, it's a growing "industry"

BTW the North American Indians had a good deterrent for theft. Do it once and they cut off your left hand, do it twice and they cut off your right. Branded for life and you would not it twice

Sounds good to me, but there was more chance of getting sent on safari (if caught) under the last administrations law and order policy.Hence why the country is blighted by this type of crime
