This afternoon I changed the droplinks on BL52, the diesel.
These had been on around three years and around 18,000 miles at the most, (Delphi) I had to change one of them within a short space of time for one of the original ones because it had gone after about 12 months. I had the Delphi one exchanged for a new one. The ones I took off today both had started to clatter over undulating road bumps. The worse one was the Delphi That has done around 20,000 miles. The original one that I refitted in place of the earlier useless Delphi has done around 104,000 miles. A slight difference I would say. I have fitted the Delphi I exchanged when the first one went u.s. and the other original one that I have kept when I first changed them. Be interesting to see which goes first. The original one has already done around 80,000 miles so should be the first to go. My betting is it will be the Delphi. Another case of the rubbish being foisted on us in the spare parts area.

Today the Spice Tourer will get a pair of wiper blades and it will roll over 200,000 miles.

Drove it to an old friend of 30 years funeral today, the weather was bright and sunny for Jim's final farewell.
And the new front ABS sensor has turned up, I suppose I should get changed into some work gear |

Brilliant, it's nice when that happens, my own preference is to pull the connector to the ECM and spin it over on the starter to prime the oil pump before going for the start.
You must be pleased it's nearly over Brian |

Removed this with a view to fitting the new insert that has been in its box, on the shelf for the last three years..
The only problem was the new pump had been damaged in transit and had the outlet feed broken off! Ah well, another eBay purchase, at least I managed to dismantle the housing without breaking any of the plastic clips!

Plugged in the new ABS sensor to the ZT, nope self test says fail, T4 says line fault, fault cleared, ignition cycled, T4 says line fault.
Well as I really can't be bothered to strip the ABS modulator, I've decided enough is enough and the ZT is going to be part exchanged for a new car next weekend, the end of the road has arrived..........thank the lord, I'm going to get my spare time back, as well as clean hands Brian |

FFS, am I really considering taking out the battery box to look at the ABS modulator plug, it's 10 past 10 and no I don't think I'll bother
I'll get the sat nav out and use that as a speedo I think Brian P.S. it's pin 15 and 16 on CO501 |

speedo
KJ's speedo and other elec gremlins which have been a B>>>> pain in the bum have now cured themselves. Perhaps the threat of a run to a guru in the North East of England and have a T4 stuck somewhere painfull to the car made it sort it's self. Still would have been nice to find the fault.
