Default RJ cutting out !!!

Hi Everyone,

I left home on Saturday, travelled about 2 miles and accelerating gently on a small incline, RJ suddenly cut out! No warning, splutters, anything. I was on a clearway but fortunately close to a layby which I managed to coast into (its an auto so I wasn't too happy about doing that).

Anyway, after about ten seconds spinning the starter she fired and revved freely, so off I went, only to repeat the exact same process after about 500yds. I have a synergy fitted and I've turned off the tuning side of it. Its run without any problem for a couple of days since i switched it off so I turned it back on again. Within a mile it cut out again without any warning .

I've e-mailed Ron for advice but has anyone on the forum had any similar experience?

I'm convinced its electrical because it happens so suddenly !

Regards

Was going to say;
If your fuel level is below a quarter full could well be the In Tank fuel Pump if you have a 2 pump system.

Don't know what the synergy could be doing to cause this as MAF sounds fine if running OK when switched off,
unless it is being over fuelled and ECU is shutting it down.

Hi John,
Thanks for the reply! Sorry for the delay in responding, I've been away. The tank was pretty near full and my garage guy's been using it for a week with the synergy switched off and it's never missed a beat!

Having said that, I notice that when I start it, I have to spin it for 5 or 6 seconds where it used to fire immediately I turned the key so perhaps there is a pump issue here.

Ron has said that if I return the synergy to him, he will test it for me and eliminate it from enquiriesso I'm hoping to do that over this weekend.

Regards
