Good one, it's just off the A1 south of N'castle it's actually on the A167, if you want to alter the route slightly to encorporate it then I've no objection.

we,re now doing Doncaster to Peterborough, so who will we hand over to in Peterborough, a nice little round trip of 175 miles, can give the car a good run out,

Well here's the timings and mileage for the stage.
Central Edinburgh 0430Hrs Stage 7 handover to Justmicky, 173 Miles to: Saltburn, Cleveland A174 0800 Hrs handover to BigRuss, 129 Miles to: Doncaster Racecourse 1100 Hrs handover to TimboP6, 78 Miles to: Burghley House, Peterborough 12.45 Hrs handover to Stubie for stage 9. Stage 8 complete. Please note all timings are approximate. Photo's will be taken on route when passing places of interest. Russ

Will whoever's doing the Northumberland stretch presumably justmicky be stopping for photo opportunities anywhere? I think a swift detour off the A1 at the north end of Alnwick to get the castle as a backdrop would be superb, also I would like to meet up just for supportive reasons
