I usually expect to get 330-360 down to the orange light. I have never run it below that level. Measuring brim to brim on many occasions, returns max. 29.8 min. 21.2

Not relevant to original question as not same engine,
But I manage about 43MPG on mixed run 48MPG pure Motorway and around 26MPG around town max. It is of Course a Diesel Tourer with Auto Box and Remap and Synergy etc.
Around 500 Miles + on a full Tank Brim to Brim method, ignore the Computer.
Also I don't always drive slowly before people respond with comments!

My only comment would be that this is a petrol head thread.

Typical reaction of a diesel driver.

Sticking to the limits... getting from Newbury to Redcar and back on a tank of Tesco regular.

Oh, with a 90k miles old 2.5 V6 ;-)

My 1800cc Connesseur (non turbo) is returning average 34 MPG which i am particular pleased with.

I drive it careful around 65mph, mostly dual track and motorway at night wityh little traffic.
This includes tesco trips and towns on a weekend crawling, so its a true average.

I Got 380 miles before the Orange light came on and i put 50 litres in exact to the cap.

Many people mock the 1.8 as underpowered, but i chose it purely for maintenence costs as there no way i could afford a v6 cambelt change!
Usually 90% of the time im in it on me own, so i find the 1.8cc quite adequate on the motorways cruising nicely at 75 mph no probs at all.

I dare say you would needthe 2.5 v6 if you had 4 or 5 adults in her climbing hills etc, but i would reccommend the 1.8 as a poor mans 75 no problem at all.
