Oops - just realised that I pobably insulted all 1.8 petrol owners by using the word "lumbering" in my first post
I used the word to describe the handling i.e. a bit unwieldy. I did not use the word to describe the power/speed of the car. I've probably insulted even more people now Sorry

After 2 days of rain it seems like the leak is finally fixed
The clutch judder hasn't reoccurred either so I'm a happy bunny BTW I stand by my claim that my own car is a completely different drive to the courtesy car. The suspension seems much harder.

Did you buy your car from new? If so you could have specified optional firmer suspension (was this an option for the 75?)
You can always check the springs and damper codes using the datasheets on the club homepage. The other option could be that the courtesy car is just that - a courtesy car and that people may have ill-treated it in the past and perhaps shot the suspension/dampers in someway. Springs have been known to snap on some ages of car due to corrosion (once a manufacture problem and replaced under warranty). Roll bars may be fitted to your car whereas they aren't to the 1.8 Heck, maybe it is because yours is a CDTi and as such they fitted uprated suspension on the premise that the "i" variants were seen as more sporting? Oooh, too many questions and no sign of an answer just yet... I'll keep quite for now.... |

I was only thinking out-loud and I haven't any brochures or anything to compare variants and their respective specifications. Hopefully someone with access to this sort of information may be able to cast some concrete light onto this for you
