Mystery solved and for future reference the 1.8 and CDT slave is absolutely identical except for the angle of the bend on the pipe that goes to the quick release connector, but the difference is so slight either would work in either car!


Also I took the old box apart
Fault was one failed PTFE guide on one of the selector arms!
I found half of it under the diff!

I will now make the worlds most expensive clutch alignment tool from the remains of the old box

Mystery indeedy solved then.

Is there a price difference on them, out of interest, does anybody know?
