Smile VUX100030 Radio cassette player

VUX100030 Symphony Radio cassette player, high quality, Alpine.

My display is crashing / blanking.

And it's one of the favourite parts of the car.

(Regreased the CD player several times!)

Can you post a picture of it please? I have a couple of radios but no idea what type. I can then look for you.

I have found this, is it any good to you. No idea if it works and if there is a security code to it I don't know if I have it. There is a 6 digit number written on the chassis of the radio. I can check further f you want the radio.
If you cover postage and make a donation to LEBBS, it can be yours, how does that sound?

Question

Thank you for looking.
That is the correct item.
Is it possible for you to check that it doesn't need a security code.

Many thanks.

Hi,

Do I still need to check for a code or are you ok with philou's post?

Default Symphony security code clarification

I have had a look in the official MG Rover manual and the Symphony does have a security code programmed at the factory. However this feature can be disabled by the owner (after first entering the code of course!). It is therefore possible to encounter Symphony units which require a code and those which do not (because it's been disabled) and it appears that this is where the confusion arises.

The code is four digits and this company can supply it for a reasonable fee provided that the full VIN number of the vehicle in which it was fitted is supplied.
