Default MKIV Firmware / Custom Logo - Success

Finally managed to work out where I was going wrong with trying to create a firmware update with my own choice of splash screen image for my MKIV dvd drive.

I've had a couple of other discs sent to me by other members which was great, but I wanted to be able to create my own and previous attempts had not worked.

Sat last night once all the kids were in bed, went through it step by step and this time - success! Managed to update my system this morning.

I also took the opportunity to stick Navcoder on and enable ETA for Sat Nav journeys as I have the clock module installed. Finally, I checked the correct way to use 7 Digit Postcode searches as per the guide on this forum and confirmed that it was working too!

All that remained was to get an up to date DVD as mine is from 2010, so that has now been ordered and is on the way. The only other thing now is to see if I can follow the guide and amend the version number so I can easily update if I want to change the image.

You didn't have to order a DVD. Some people are in the know for cheap (freemans) ones

To be fair, it was well priced, came next day and works perfectly so I'm happy. Got latest maps, camera alerts etc so I'm happy.
