Default Calipers - colours

Having been inspired by the work of Fusilier (Stu) and Vindaloo (Jim), I have decided to refurbish a set of brake calipers for the car.

Not 190's (as I want to be able to fit the smaller wheels) and not to anything like the standard of the aforementioned two, but was just wondering what people thought of different colours for calipers and carriers?

I have already got the calipers painted gold and was thinking of doing the carriers black. Would this be a waste of time without the bigger 190 brake upgrade - car is Copperleaf BTW.

Cheers,
Karl.

I would say keep them both the same colour, but would be interesting to see what they would look like in 2 colours...

Thanks Gary. Yeah, I quite like the thought of black and gold together - just not sure if it would look right on a set of ordinary calipers..

Cheers,
Karl.

Thanks for the pic Tony. Nice looking job, there. Doesn't look as though you can see enough of the carriers once fitted to justify doing them in a different colour..

Cheers,
Karl.

Well I've been down the gold route....albeit 190 brakes & black wheels:

and now switched to white, with standard wheels:

I think the size of the caliper shouldn't be an issue, but I can't picture the carrier? It's just a nice finishing touch and if you don't like it, it's easy enough to change and try something different!

Thanks Chris. Yeah, would seem to make sense to just keep everything the same colour, rather than go and buy another colour for little benefit..

Pic of the gold alongside unpainted carrier for reference (painted caliper still wet)..

Cheers,
Karl.
