Default Police crack down on Crash for cash - another reason for a dash cam

It is a small comfort but now that these bar stewards have been convicted - their ability to get insurance is virtually zero.

What is stunning in this example is the lies being caught out by the evidence of the dash cam.

I was looking at dash cameras on Amazon earlier today.
I think I need to click "add to basket"!!

Dash cams are becoming very popular now, I think it's a good idea to have one simply to protect yourself from other idiots, also if someone runs from the pavement and gets hurt or worse the blame will not automatically fall on the driver, you see little kids running all over the place these days while mumsie is on her phone updating her Facebook or whatever.
A group of young lads ran in front of me about 15 years ago, one didn't quite make it and bounced off the bonnet of my 5 series BMW, he wasn't badly hurt but his parents made a beeline for me, good job I was in a police car at the time, a dashcam would have provided all the evidence there and then instead of a massive investigation, no charges on me but the parents never paid for my broken headlight or bonnet repair - out of work and can't pay!!!

Dashcams - brilliant idea 👍

I've heard of these types of incidents happening more and more in the past few years. Someone was caught in Brighton recently after a spate of crashes, when they checked his car they found a switch under his steering wheel that turned the brake lights off, nasty stuff. This shows that it is safer to have a dash cam and not get scammed out by these clowns!

I'm very glad I have one fitted in my car, my only hope is that I never have to use it

Another part of the scam is that car will only contain a driver but when they put the claim in they say there were more people in the car i.e. 4 more and their all claiming for whiplash and the like.

the second car was less than 2 seconds from the car they hit. That's what crash for cash rely on, so there is a lesson there. Don't drive so blessed close. Lets just take it for a moment that someone or something did force the front car to stop, the second car would still of hit it. crash for cash or genuine......makes no difference they still were to close to stop.

If your caught up in what you think may be a scam, call the police. I hope I don't get caught, I try to keep a decent distance to avoid getting caught but lets be honest we don't always keep that safe distance
