Could be some of the ribbon cable in the steering rotary coupler have gone.
Mine did a similar thing and i found one of the 7 wires was faulty. |

T4 results
The only inputs that registered on the live test screen was brake and brake light. The cruise control inputs remained the same, what does this indicate?

As mentioned previously, it may be that the rotary coupler has one or more open circuit wires.
Do the horn buttons work? If not then check the earth header C0552 is clean and is making good contacts. It sits behind the trim panel in front of the drivers door near the bottom edge, and is the third header up from the lowest one. . Last edited by Mike Noc; 25th June 2018 at 09:43.. |

If the earth header is OK (the horn and cruise switches share a common earth wire) then chances are you need a new rotary coupler.
Not a difficult job, but you need to ensure that both the coupler and steering wheel (and the road wheels!) are central when it is fitted, or they don't tend to last very long. . Last edited by Mike Noc; 25th June 2018 at 10:46.. |

phil-T4 does one for £150 does he not ?
And the cruise control on a diesel automatic is rubbish, rubbishier than rubbish, it should never have been. it just revs its nuts off to try to get up to speed, or keep it's prgrammed speed, it is terrible. Pete. |
