I remember visiting (quickly unfortunately) some very well-known (now but less in the old days) spots in Croatia while going to & back from Greece: Split & Dubrovnik.
Magnificent! And less people than nowadays...

But it was in 1976 & Tito was still in place. History then when looking back in those (good old?) days.

I was travelling with a friend in my second car: a brand new flashy red Peugeot 104 ZS coupé!
That centre road was terrible: lots of big lorries along a thousand kilometres of a large 2-lane road and definitely not a motor road.
Imagine our terror when the lorry ahead put its right indicator on, meaning that we were able to overtake it, and we found while just beginning to overtake it that another big lorry was coming in front of us!
But - surprise - at the last moment when we thought our last hour has arrived each lorry kept on its right and we were closely passing between them!
In the long run we were used to that astute strategy but the first time what a shock!

Last Thursday I drove my family to Radmanove Mlinice on Cetina river canyon, some 20 miles from Split. This is realy refreshing cold water on hot days like this ones. This river is know upkn rafting and kayaking you can do and enjoy. We went on the very end of the river, where it is calm and where this kind of sport has its last stage.

Few pictures from where we went:
