There was talk of trying to get the manufacturer to do another run but not sure if anyone contacted them or not.

Here's mine, it's the Freelander one but I just waited until there was one at the most realistic price, about £30 including delivery, I just needed to put in the micro wave for 30 seconds to melt the glue on the plastic insert and then it was a doddle to fit, just put gaffa tape around the handbrake until it would just slide on tightly. I purchased one, and another member purchased the other seven, they were however priced at 48 pounds on the first run. I can confirm they are an exact copy of the original ones, and require no modifications to fit them. Just remove the old one and replace. I think the supplier must have noted what the other member was selling them for on eBay, and adjusted the price to suit. |

It's a lovely looking thing, nice grain, excellent colour match and more "sculpted" that the Freelander ones. Only problem is, it is a very tight fit and was quite a struggle to get on. So much so that in doing so, the end part (where the rubber band fits) cracked and half of it broke off. Not too impressive considering the price, however the damage doesn't show when the gaiter is fitted so I dare say I'll be keeping it. It would be a heck of a job to get it off again in any case - no double side tape needed to keep this one from moving on the lever! Cliff

I think its a walnut veneer. Looking at the underside of the grip you can see what appears to be a seam where the edges of the veneer butt against each other. It's very smooth, and not at all like a moulded seam.

I tell you what Cliff, that certainly looks the part in your car, and as you say, the colour looks really good and matches beautifully.
