Mine had been on for a couple of months after my mate adjusted the passenger seat.

After reading posts on here I fiddled about with the yellow connecter and other connectors under the passenger seat convinced that it had to be one of those because of the timing of the adjustment of the passenger seat and light coming on but had no joy at all.

Travelled up to the nano meeting in the Midlands last week and after a T4 session with Duncan at the helm he advised me that the fault was actually showing that the problem was with the blue seatbelt pretensioner plug under the drivers seat.

Fiddled about with the wires going into the blue connection and hey presto the light went out and has stayed out since.

I was unaware of the possible airbag deployment issue when messing with the plugs while battery was still connected!! but i disconnected mine with advice from the peeps on here, sprayed some contact cleaner on the plugs and all is well again.
Without the advice and knowledge of the guru's here i would have been thinking something was seriously wrong.

There's not a lot of "spare" cable and moving the seat can tension the wiring. I replaced the connectors but took the added precaution of adding 6" of wire.

Please go read Post No.3. Re-routing per the MGR TB recommendation really does fix the intermittant SRS light fault with one proviso - the wires on the plug connectors are really fine gauge and our cars are +13 years old so also check that both wires are not broken at the connector tag end.

Agreed. I was referring to a comment about special connectors that have something in them to prevent electrical spikes.

Default Air bag light solution

TSAutos cut and recrimped mine, and absolutely no problems since.

Last year, I put a new seat cover on so had to remake the connectors myself. I used decent choccy block in case I need to remove the seat again. I did tin the ends of the wires to help the choccy make a good connection (Weller 40W iron and Weller high temp lead free solder), and honestly, no light since.

Easier to fit more secure fitting such as these below, you will then have no more trouble when the seat is move backwards or forwards by another driver, or even the MOT tester & it fails on the day of the test

Hi all.
Does anybody knows if LHD cars have connectors under drivers seat (lh)?

Regards

Should be the same, LHD or RHD, connectors for both airbag and seat belt pre-tensioners under both front seats. A problem with either will bring the airbag light up.
