Good morning Steve, it’s an excellent idea of turning the hose on yourself. Keeping cool is what matters, as it will cool the body core temp down By the way, how is the smoking going, have you been able to kick the habit?

Scorching hot already.
Come on you storms.
Already arrived up here Freddie - constant claps of thunder and flashes of lightning for the past hour or so and some pretty heavy bursts of rain. It seems to be moving away in a North/North Easterly direction, so stevestrat may well be bypassed?

Morning Phil, still smoking, its my only vice. Caught the edge of a brief thundery shower of rain last night, lightning and thunder in the distance, not enough to clear the air though. Going visiting today, dunno if you saw the "Infant Diabetes" thread, going to see my friend and her little boy in the hospital.

Either it's done an about turn, or there are a whole series of thunderstorms chasing one another - it's letting rip again

It's proper hot here, I've retreated to a darkened room with the fan on. the thunderstorm that was forecast for last night didn't amount to much, the forecast says it's going to rain on Saturday & Sunday here.

If you put a bowl or tray of ice cubes between the fan and yourself Ian? It will help.

We had a nice day here for a change. The sun came out 22C. I did some gardening, cleaned the pool and went for a swim. The water was cold, so I am cool for the night.

Hi Steve, I stopped smoking more than 10 years ago and if you can get help it will turn your life around. I learned a long time ago, not to lecture people about their vices Your friend and her little boy, how are they doing? I expect the little boy will have close follow up for many years to come and his family will get through it with support and education from the professionals, the “why’s and the hows’, how to live with it, how to deal with illness and growing up. We have a friend who’s daughter had the same condition. It progressed to Juvenile Diabetes. She has just finished university and has to wear an Insulin pump. If she pigs out, she readjusts the dosage. Your friends little boy. hopefully will be putting on weight and growing normally, but it’s going to take time.

Take care
