Hiya Paul, don't worry too much about the four glow plugs, they don't do much on our cars. When my car was checked over it was found only one of them was working but it's never been a problem.

Hard starting is generally linked to fuel on the diesel, could be a sensor, fuel pump, or not enough pressure in the common rail.. You could do with someone who knows how to test for faults really.. I think Jules is nearest for you.. It's worth having a word with him anyway innit..

Jules phone numbers are.....
Tel 01492 535020
Mob 07831 457011

Your car should start without any glow plugs Paul. they only come on when it's very cold, and even then one should be enough to get the engine running... Dunno about kits, Jules will know though..

Doing my service this week. I've used these guys over the last few years. This year I ordered the kit on Friday and it arrived Monday. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MG-ROVER-7...item2a11e47242

For £50 plus postage it works out very well against other suppliers.

The oil you get is up to you as far as what flavour. I use 5/40 cos I can get it for nothing. Members use 10/40 and other flavours as well. 6 and 1/2 to 7 litres will do you and leave you with enough to put in the boot as a top up. One thing I would advise tho'. When changing the oil filter, put loads of kitchen roll or cloth around the oil filter carrier to catch any spills. The alternator is directly under the filter carrier and will fail on you if oil gets on it.

Hi bartandrose The first things on your list seem easy to do the second lot seems a lot harder as never worked on a diesel before milage at moment is 109456 i think but been well look after,The fella who does the work on my car says the engine on mine is very quiet for a diesel.
