Default Hex socket/ Allen key for brake pads

I am thinking of taking my brake pads out to give them and the discs a clean, does anyone know what size hex socket or allen key i will need as i will have to go and buy one, I will also have to remove the wear sensors to be able to do this, do they just pull off?

I did try searching other threads but could not find the information i needed.

Thanks in advance for any help given.

Cant remember the size, but they are tight, so get one to fit a ratchet or swivel bar. will get back with the size later if no one replies.

Default Tools

The sensors just pull out but treat them carefully as they are brittle. The tool you need is a 'Hexagon bit socket 7mm...3/8" drive' available from Halfords etc. 7mm is not usually included in any socket set.

I just undid the Hex bolt with a T50?

Is there some other bolt I didn't spot?

Yep, 7mm is the right size for the caliper key. Did mine on Monday.

When I cleaned the brake pistons, I didnt bother undoing allen bolts.
Just took the caliper off, and the pads come out with a bit of wiggling.

Thanks for your help, i went and bought a set of hex sockets from Halfords.
I have only done the front ones upto now, what i did notice was that the front discs are ventilated but the rear discs are not, does this make any difference when it comes to buying the pads or are all the cars the same?
