Default Fuel Gauge Sending Unit - where can I get one?

I have a problem with my fuel gauge which reads intermittently.

In January this was tested by a garage and they told me that the 'sender' was faulty.

Today I have asked another garage to give me an estimate for replacing the 'sender' and they have reported that a parts search resulted in the message that these are obsolete.

How do I go about finding one from scrap? Any other advice about fixing this?

I would be inclined to suggest that before spending anymore money, that you get a second opinion. Talk to Marinabrian prehaps?

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Default Fuel Sender

Kathryn

Ronnie could check it for you, or you could come along to the metro centre meet, on 8 April, and ask Marinabrian to put your car on the T4, if you never had it done, it is worth it, and Brian is a top man, and will be able to give the car a full diagnostics, and let you know if you have any other faults on the car.

Thanks all.

I'll be seeing Marinabrian on Wednesday for my T4 session and possible Xpower upgrade. I'll ask him about this ...
