Default ****** front door sill carpet retaining strips!

Can anyone recommend a method for keeping the front door sill / carpet retaining strips in place? I've tried replacing the retaining clips on the strips' underside but passengers' (and my) feet still dislodge the strips until they eventually slide off the strips. I've now put them in the boot for safe keeping. Any ideas willingly considered

Fit the Mk2 ones.....they tuck under the rubber & you don't kick them off

If you use the correct Retaining Clips they don't come off. I fitted new ones to mine nearly 3 years ago and they haven't come off yet!

+1, but I got mine from Howards as a pack of 6 - much cheaper. It's the only way to secure the strip properly.

From the factory the clips were secured to the trim with hot melt glue to stop them bring kicked off.

Hi, have you got a link to the specific clips from Halfords? They didn't have any the right size when I tried last year.

Here: (Not Halfords - Howards). http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2811310123...84.m1436.l2648

Of course when I bought mine I just got them from Rimmer's as I thought that was the only place to get them at the time.....

D'oh, misread it - but still the Howards link is cheaper than most I have seen, although at over £1 per clip (when including postage) I still think they are overpriced.

Havign said that, I do think the OEM clips are the only ones that seem to be totally up to the job, others are not as secure, annoying also that you have to replace one each time you take a door card off

I use these on my car and other members cars, they work fine and are not single use like the genuine ones. Plus they are cheaper too.

Me, I would rather get the real McCoy than save £2.99 Although I suppose you could have an extra pint with the money you've saved.....
