Default Global Warming/Cold Snap

Well, acording to SkyNews the cold spell is to last at least another 10 days, oh joy

Is this cold spell connected to global warming?
If so why is it so cold and should I buy a new sledge for the kids in the hope they can use it next year??

I don't believe in global warming, I think it's a big conspiracy and the current weather proves my point.

The BBC was making the distinction between 'weather'...a short term phenomena and 'climate' a long term phenomenom.....hence the two do not have to correspond...how convenient.

Global warming = melting polar ice caps = slowing or stopping the Gulf Stream = colder air for Britain. SSsssssimple, tsk tsk!!

TBH, if the Gulf Stream does shut down we will have winters equal to the other regions at our latitude, ie -30 degrees Centigrade would be common.

Get out your thermals - the Ice age is coming... eventually......

Well, in spite of being completed ignored by the 'National' weather forecasters...because the South East is SO much more important than the likes of the East Coast...we now have the worst snow I have ever seen over here....and some nice strong Easterly winds....so..logs, socks at the ready!
