Morning all, I’m still full from a great meal last night with Ian and Jan.

The dog finished my weetabix!

Morning everyone, cool misty & damp here, we seem to be all down with some sort of bug here!

Stomach bubbling away, daren't go more than 6 feet away from the lavy

I've just been wiping down all the surfaces of everything we use with bleach+water mix.

Aye - 'tis a grey day again here - the fog is still hanging about in the distance, but it's cold and dank.
I worry that Friday, aka shopping day, seems to come around at an ever increasing speed.

You need realism. One Saturday morning I was on a turn where you shunted wagons and made up the trains for the east coast main line electrification jobs on the Saturday night. There was myself, a freight guard and a shunter who wasn't the sharpest tool in the box. The electrification yard was on a fair gradient. Went to the far end of the yard, picked up a wagon of steel masts and a rail mounted generator, left a rail mounted crane and brake van. Came right down over the king points in the yard to put the wagons into a different road then noticed the crane and brake van coming down to meet us. Initially I thought who's moving them then it dawned on me, the shunter hadn't checked the handbrakes were applied and about 70 tons were freewheeling down towards us picking up more and more speed courtesy of gravity I screamed a warning at the guard then braced myself for the unavoidable collision. When the dust settled the crane was derailed, as was the wagon of masts, the generator wagon next to the loco was sitting at a strange angle and bufferlocked with the loco.

All the electrification trains planned for that night had to be cancelled. It was also the shunters last day, he was found other "less challenging" duties.

Bleddy hell! that must have been terrifying I've just bought another "route" for this train sim, it was a toss up between East coast mainline, Glasgow airport rail link or South Wales coastal route! The Taffs won out because it was a few quid cheaper plus I wanted the 175 class

Nah, more a case of awe sh..! Just had to sit and watch knowing there wasn't a thing I could do to avoid it. I was just glad I hadn't actually started shoving back into the other road, had it hit the side of the loco would have been a real mess, probably have burst the 500 gallon diesel fuel tank. Once I checked Gordon, the guard, was ok (he got a real scare, thought the generator was coming over on top of him and frankly so did I!) I began muttering about having to fill in reports.
