Watching the Remembrance Day Parade from the Cenotaph reminded me of our dear departed friend.

Safe journey Phil.
Thanks for that Ian. Driving to the West Country, it was appallingly bad weather for driving and I got stuck at Junction 12-14 on the M4 because of an RTA and the motorway was closed. I came off it and then another accident and more jams, so I had drive onto Andover. After Andover, the roads were clear. The delays, traffic jams and accidents, stretched my journey to 7 hours. The old V6 managed everything very well. Not bad for a 20 year old Rover 75, yes a 2.0, not the fastest and certainly not the most economical. A most comfortable car, if one is going to be stuck on the motorway for many hours, everything worked: A/C, heating, WINCE and all that

Afternoon all, got home about 12.45, left the guest house about 8.45, and it rained nearly all the way home. Had a good day at the show yesterday, met up with and spent the day looking round with Organiser(Tom), Graham 1961,in between his stints helping on the club stand, and my best mate Michael So much to see and only a day to do it,resulted in a very long day. We joined the club team, Christopher, Pete, Reebs,Flying Banana, Duotone, Trikey and Bluebird, for a meal and a few drinks nearby, which was good .Very tired now

I went along to the Remembrance Day parade/ceremony in Clacton this morning and when the Last Post played out the first thing I though was of at Dereks Funeral.
As he was sent in to be cremated one of his Comrades played the bugle.....That brought a lump to my throat as it did again today.
So very moving. We owe so much to people like Derek that we have our liberties and freedom

A truly lovely picture of Derek was proud of his military career and would attend every reunion without fail, both Dawn and I were privileged to have known him,
Lilian does not go onto the forum and she would have loved to have this picture of him, me not being too bright with computers, if only I could get this picture to send to her.

Do you have an email address? PM it to me, I'll email the photo and you can get it printed. Failing that PM me your name and address, I'll print a copy and send it to you to forward to Lilian.

Morning all from Balsall Common.

Homeward bound today via Torquay to drop Grovey off and collect Redfive.

Was totally shattered yesterday and there was no way I could have driven home safely. Glad I booked the extra night.
Really enjoyed the show. Great to see so many of my friends from this forum, caught up with the chat with most, missed talking to a few.

At 11am yesterday the NEC came to a stop. The only sound was the air conditioner.
It was a year ago yesterday that I lost my brother, ex-RAF, but of course I never learnt of his passing till after his funeral. A tear or two may have escaped in memory of him. And my Dad who landed on the beaches with the 11th Armoured brigade.
A silent Thank You to Derek and all those before, during and after at various conflicts for giving there lives to keep us free.
