Default Which TV show or film freaked you out?

As a child or young adult, what did you see on tv or on film that freaked you out or even disturbed you.
Mine were the Singing Ringing Tree on TV & The Exorcist

Singing Ringing Tree was creepy, still is.

My folks let me watch "The Devil Rides Out" when I was a kid. My father said when the angel of death appeared the colour drained out of my face. I remember I slept with my father's old police truncheon under my pillow that night, if the angel of death came near me he was getting smacked a good one!

Just a few years ago I was channel surfing and came across "The Grudge", the original Japanese version. First film for a long time that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

Just spotted its on the Horror channel now, missed the first ten mins or so on the +1. Where's my Dad's old police truncheon

I have to admit a liking for Japanese horror films, mentioned The Grudge, there's also The Ring 1 & 2. For God's sake avoid the newer American remakes though.

The TV film that did scare me was the Original Quatermass one when the guy returned from space and started to turn into some giant monster.I was behind the sofa..

The Exorcist did it for me - whenever the camera started moving towards the girl's bedroom, you knew there was something nasty in there - including the green projectile vomiting and her head turning through 360°. My mate and I had hands over our faces, whilst our wives were laughing and smiling.
When we came out of the cinema (fleapit more like!) the Samaritans were standing outside, offering their help to people who had been disturbed by the film

I can see why the tree film freaked you out ronnie...never heard of it so I followed the link ..On 12 minutes when the "Mini Phil Neville " turned up , I switched it off

salems lot when the Glick ? kid floated up to the window was (at the time ) the scariest thing id seen on tv ..watched years later and its not so bad ..but for its time it was really good.

As a young kid it was monty python, I couldn’t understand what was going on so found it disturbing.

When I was 16 I watched poltergeist, frightened me 5hitless, I still won’t watch horror films to this day, saw a bit of the exorcist a few years ago and I had the horrors at 3am and kicked the ex wife out of the bed!!
