Ian Duncan smith resigns
Apparently he has resigned over the changes to disability payments. Good on him I say Osborne should be sacked over the same

A tory with principles. Also this is the man who danced a wee jig in the house when other cuts to those in need were made . Pass the bucket . |

Seems simple to me - he is protecting his own back, he can see there is a storm coming over this and doesn't want to be covered in the fallout.
No Tory has principals or in fact any politician I can think of. If they did then not one of them would have voted for cuts to benefits at all, it's a disgrace how this country treats its own people. Cutting money to disabled people is out and out disgusting, no one asks to be ill, not like some scumbags who just don't want to work. Last edited by Simondi; 19th March 2016 at 06:15.. |

Dont forget he is a Euro sceptic and this probably clears the way for him to pursue that as he wont have to tow the Cameron line on it I guess

He could have stayed and made a bigger stink, help get it retracted or what ever it is called.
I posted a couple of weeks ago about the number of suicides because of the cuts ALREADY in force, it will only get worse, but who cares the sick and the poor are treated badly. All these benefit TV progs with ill-mannerd morons don`t help, why not make a program about the real suffering, like the woman yesterday who had to use newspaper because she could not afford any sanitary product Ken. |

What this government should be doing is weeding out those who claim to be disabled but are perfectly able bodied. They are everywhere here, the locals know who they are but they still get away with abusing the system.
If these parasites had their handouts stopped then there would be no need to cut a genuine disabled persons allowance. Did you know alcoholism is classed as a disability so they get benefits and they can further feed their habit Honestly, you couldn't make it up

Trebor and Kenny are right IMHO. He'll not be restricted campaigning for a "No" vote and these "documentaries" are for entertainment at the end of the day and badly damage those genuine in need.
What gets me is GO's simplistic view of being "prudent like any household and living within your means". Except for a lucky few most households have a mortgage, loans etc without which most of us would be stuffed. The trick is to manage the debt carefully which perhaps we haven't been too great in the past. His blinkered view of striving for a surplus is going to cause serious damage as a result. One thing though, British politics is going to get very interesting in the months to come.... |
