Hello Andy
The tag on my spare has 1 16 digit letter and number code and barcode 1 14 digit letter and number and + symbol code and a barcode 1 8 digit Number. The 2 digit number which is probably 12 for the locking nut release key is nowt to do with door keys. Almost all our cars use that locker that's why a lot of us have been changing them for the Nitrousgear ones> Hope this helps. |

Andy
The info I posted was for yours and everybody elses benefit. I would hate to think that because I didn't speak, you or somebody else would have trouble replacing a key or buying a spare. For a dealer to get a new key they need the VIN number of the car. The V5 registration document as proof of ownership, I believe the keys are then odered from Germany if memory serves. Then programmed specifically for the car. I also, if memory serves, think the key uses a rolling code to access the car. To prevent cloning. Having the bar codes for the key just makes this process a bit simpler. Somebody correct me If I'm wrong please, I very often am or miss bits of info out.
