I assume that this applies to the diesel as well as the petrol ZTs

The diesel T/C works electronically where as the petrol versions have some sort of cable actuator.

Think about it, what does traction do. it recognises a drive wheel that has lost traction, the rear wheels are not drive wheels
Speaking on the petrol set up all the cable does when the traction is activated is close the (extra) air intake at the throttle assy, hence the engine revs are limited and the drive wheel will regain traction
