Default Nothing on startup

Washed and waxed my beauty today, but just as I am starting to appreciate her again, she lets me down. When starting, all lights come on when ignition onbut then as key turned to start, nothing at all, no clicks, no ticks, no starter motor. Then if i turn of and on again (sound like an IT proffesional now), she starts first time. Any ideas?

It is probably the starter motor. You can get a refurb kit off eBay for about a tender. There is a copper washer and 2 copper contacts that gradually wear with age until they don't make contact in the solonoid. The kit replaces these contacts and the plunger. The problem gradually gets worse. Every time you retro the plunger rotates and if you are lucky it uses a slightly less worn bit. I got to the stage of having to try they key 6 or 7 times. It should take no more than an hour to take the starter out and refurbish. It held in by 2 bolts.
