Problems..............
sWent to my car this morning having been away for a month, pressed the remote and nothing, not a flicker, opened via key, battery stone dead, had to call out breakdown as couldn't get close enough to jump start, fired up straight away with their booster, left engine running for 10 mins, stopped, wouldn't start, tried booster again, left running for 20 mins. Took car out for a run, got 4 miles up the road and 'Engine over heating' stopped waited 15 mins and filled up, turned round and headed home, 2 miles and same thing happened, decided to risk the run home, got in my drive, waited a while then opened cap on header tank, water spewed out. After leaving car for 2 hours to cool down looked in header, totally dry. Any body any idea what it could be?. run did sort out battery start and opens up with remote. Can't get to garage until Wednesday, all closed.

Look for any external coolant leaks such as radiator, t piece, hoses, clips, waterpump.
K series engines need REGULAR coolant checks, when engine is cold top back up to max level and run engine and have a good look for any leaks and then report back with what you find, hopefully your head gasket might still be ok!! Regards Craig |

Oh and the inlet manifold gasket is a common place for coolant to leak internally and externally

And in addition to all the above good advice your battery WILL NEED 24 hours on a charger.
It WILL NOT charge up fully on the car unless you drive a thousand miles a week. Colvert. |
