Mini, Spitfire and Armstrong Siddeley are the ones I would focus on - simple vehicles by modern standards. Does the Armstrong Siddeley run, and the gearbox work?

Ah, memories! I love the days when car odometers went from 99999 to 00000...

Also, looking at those photos evokes the smell of leather and damp...

Spitfire has never been restored and never will be as it's in good condition

Why? If Thomas and his dad want to keep all the cars for restoration, then surely that’s their choice. Marinabrian has a collection of Morris Marinas that need restoring, no one said to him pick one and restore it. Knowing Brian I don’t think anyone would dare.
Fair enough Brian is an adult and Thomas is a teenager, but when I was his age, if I could have had a few cars, I would have done.

Okay I have a garage and sheds you name its all been stored somewhere we don't have to spend money on them as every car we have are in boxes waiting to get put back together and it's fun as me and my dad enjoy time restoring them

I would get a coat of primer on asap. It's a lovely, rare old motor, it would be a shame to let it go rusty. And it will get damp in the winter. Old cars like that need to be stored in the dry/undercover, and taken out for a good airing on dry days.
