Today I've checked my plenum's all clear (thank god)
Also spent a good three hours treating "Ruby" to a good clean and a polish even done inside the doors and frames also polished my alloys she's looking real pretty now if I do say so myself
Thought I'd add a couple of pics.

Default what I Did with my Rover........Today !

After fitting my rear sunblind I was happy it worked, but had no factory loom in the car, so a temporary wiring to operate it was made. Today the wiring was completed and now have it all working and looking as it should. Very happy with this result.

Today I cursed my ZT and damned it to hell. An exhaust which won't stay attached, a coolant leak which baffles the greatest minds - but it really goes! Just another money pit to replace the last MGR disaster? Feeling dejected!

Today I started to prepare for changing my cambelt and water pump on my 1.8 Connie. I did this job on my 414 some years ago and soon realised that it was the itty bitty bits that took the time, not the main job. Today I started going round all the fixings on the wheel arch liner to make sure that they would all release when the time came. I didn't want to resort to destroying it due to lack of time. Good move! Several of the fixings were solid with rust and the screw heads corroded. After about an hour of cleaning, wire brushing, applying WD 40 and swearing a lot, (under my breath because SWMBO was nearby!) the fixings were all removed, re-greased and put back in place ready for action when my cambelt/water pump kit arrives from MGRDS.

It would appear to be a bit easier than the 414 in that the pulley bolt is visible once the liner is removed so the engine may not need to be lowered to get at it (feel free to correct me if I am wrong). There are however a couple of sensor wires (abs and pad wear sensor I think ) to remove. It looks like they will just unclip in the engine bay.

Today's work will take that hour off the job time when I do it. Time well spent. Much better than destroying a good liner and "patching" with penny washers as I have seen on "garage" repairs!

Removed a screw right in the middle of the tread of the rear tyre, cranked up the compressor, and got the tyre irons hot.

One 3mm "mushroom" plug patch later, hey presto no more puncture

Gave it a wipe over with an oily rag, and proceeded northwards to the MOT station.

An hour later, and one advisory for a tiny, and I mean tiny amount of play in the nearside track rod end, another year down

New track rod end ordered, another job for the weekend
