It's currently sitting with a full tank of fuel while I investigate a small noise coming from the engine. I have a good idea what it is but I'm checking a few other sources and it's definitely far from being terminal. It was a bit frustrating as I had just brimmed the tank and only turned the radio off as the Radio 5Live was annoying me. Then I heard the noise and came over all paranoid, so she went back home to have another looksee and I gave the O'Meeger a sound thrashing.

It's ironic really in that since she's been retired she's thrown up a good few niggly little faults, and I think it's the fact that she's not doing the miles; these cars were meant to be used, not sitting and being fussed over like an old mother hen. But I've got too attached to her and I'm clucking round her too much probably. She'll be at the next meet, I think I'll get beaten up if I don't bring her!

Pete it is most probably because you started it up!
That unrecognised noise is the engine running.

I hadn't thought of that!

I'm just about to have a quick few minutes with her now, mainly listen to the noise and make a few faces while I wonder what it might be, then dust the dashboard, straighten the floormats, do all the really complex things like you do. Chat laters all.

If she's taxed take her out for a spin and have another listen when you get back after thorough warm up.
