Thumbs up The Pride of Longbridge 2012

Well it seems that all members enjoyed themselves at Longbridge last Saturday That the good news is that the club will be holding a two day meet next year at Cofton Park on the 14th of April and on the Sunday the 15th the venue is to be confirmed. Brian and Myselfe had a good chat with the chairman of the Austin Ferderation and things are looking good for the club.

mind you there is still plenty going on this year so enjoy yourself's Oh and by the way I am now a member of the Austin federation

Hi Derek,

Apologies as I am most probably being dense - but which club is holding a 2 day event next year? - The Austin Federation, or are we having a 2 day event?

Ah good-o, the turn out was fantastic, so a 2 day POL wouldn't have surprised me either.

Sorry I didn't get chance to say hello, the day flew by and I must have not managed to see more than half the cars, or speak to all the people I had hoped. Hope all's well!

Maybe I can help here Jake The plan is for the club to hold it's first National Meet of 2012 in the Midlands at a venue to be confirmed (as Gaydon have put their prices up somewhat since our last visit), as per our announcement earlier in the year. It will be on the Sunday following POL.

However the POL for 2012 as organised and run by The Austin Federation have graciously allowed the Rover 75 and MG ZT Owners Club to have a specific area in which to park for any members wishing to do so.

This would mean that anyone who wanted to make a weekend of it could use both days to meet and chat, and the car parking area set aside for us would be large enough to accomodate up to 100 or so cars.

The POL event as a whole is independent to the club, however we will have a 'presence' there by which I mean a gazebo with merchandise and flyers etc for any interested parties who wander over to see the 75s and ZTs parked up, but that is all. No speeches, raffles etc, just a point of reference for anyone interested in the owners club.

POL is not a club organised enterprise, we would simply be guests of the official organisers in much the same way the other car clubs are at the event currently.

Hope that helps

Hmmm. I fully expect-ed that the National Nano meeting held last weekend would be the precursor to becoming an annual event, and was very much looking foreword to attending the next one..

I think it's a shame this club are planning a meeting the same weekend when it had the entire year to choose from..

Will the Nano national incorporating POL now be canceled??? I hope not as it was such a great weekend....
