must agree a big thank you to our KEN

and to JOHN lets go ahead and get as many names of members who will be willing to attend a meet at Brooklands and perhaps Ken or Chris will let us know ASAP when the NATIONAL MEETis going to take place so arrangements can be made for this local meet as it is important to get a southern one going after the successes of Eversley

Hi I have a feeling I may be treading one someones feet or being pushy, this is not my intention, I'm only puting together what someone asked before Christmas. I will be around to help should it be needed.

Ok I have started to sort a few things out and I am hoping the next national meet will be on Sunday 19th April. I will not give any details yet as its still only pencil booked and more work is needed before details are released. The club will probably announce it over this weekend once I have made a few more phone calls...............its a goody by the way.

The club would appreciate it if any private meets being organised could avoid this date if at all possible as it would be a shame to have another meet on the same day as both 'meets' may suffer a fall in numbers.

Thanks

Not at all John - just want to make sure we don't affect the numbers at either meet

No John I have got to admire you for trying to get a local meet off the ground It now looks like the NATIONAL MEETwill be held on the 19th of April Ken will most likely confirm over the week end and I doubt that it will be held at Brooklands so lets add your names to the list I am a bit disappointed with the response at the moment seeing that we had such a good turn out at Eversley of 23 cars it seems that us southerners have not got the get up and go that our friends up in Yorkshire and the Midlands have so come on you guys give JOHN HOWARD
the support he deserves and add your names to the list

I have been thinking(not a good think Ha! Ha!) as the national meeting will be on the 19th April and Brooklands being such a high prifile venue with museum, statice aircraft displays etc, would it not be better to make it a special meeting venue later in the year, say September and go for a local pub meeting in the meen time as it started off as being a get-to-gether, a chat about our hobby and a Sunday lunch. It would be something great to look forward to at the seasons end. We would be able to book a date now and it will give us more time to get the news out and members to make that date availible.
John

OK John I am up for any meet any where local to us what about this pub you have been talking about in Bracknell as the response that we had for Eversley was not great and as I said that we had 23 cars there so may be it was too small a parking area If you can set a date and then I am sure names will start to roll in

Not wishing to point or push anyone in any particular direction but I did look at Brooklands a couple of years ago and at the time we had a problem with insurance. That problem no longer exists so a national meet at Brooklands could be on the cards for later in the year but I can't say for sure as its no longer down to me. I know I am looking at the next meet and getting that off the ground but I am only doing it as Christopher and Pete are both tied up with their own careers at the moment. When I retired and left the admin side of the club I did say if there was anything I could help with let me know which is why I am helping out at the moment.

Hope that helps in your deliberations
