I hate somebody
Don't know who, but I hate them.
You know what it's like; you set about changing the cabin filter. Not the easiest job on our cars, and not the best job to start on a cold wet day, but on with the dismantling. It's only a large Airfix kit really. So, wipers off (hah, just like that), not. A few more brittle bits here and there, and then you come to them don't you? All seven of them. (lots of you will recognise these little chaps). Or at least that's what normally happens. Unfortunately, someone,(probably Silicone Sid the glue it kid) had been here before; and he'd obviously lost a few, so what does he do? He hammers in a few of these: I would have done some neck wringing if Sid had been near, because I can tell you now that removing these without wrecking anything else is not very funny, and not in the least bit easy. So thanks somebody. I hate you. |

Urghh... I hate those things too, absolute work of the devil, always a 50/50 chance of breaking whatever they're holding in before they come out!!

Still, saves the correct ones from pinging miles into the air to land in the long grass never to be seen again
But then again I guess you are now short of the correct ones anyway

You do if you want enough room to work in without breaking anything else.

Had the same problem with mine except some nice person had managed to fit them the wrong way around and they were glued in.
So I did a search on ebay and found a supplier so ordered a complete replacement set plus have a few spare ones in case I have to remove any again.

I changed mine twice and both times not removed the Wipers, or even the ECU for that matter... I just remove 3 of the pop-in clips on the valance and one scrivet on the cover and out it comes.... 20 minute job!

Yes, but the diesels area bit more tricky as they have a bigger ECU.
As Klazy says you need to lift it out, to make the job much easier.
