Hi south bank,
Thanks for keeping us posted. Let's hope X Part can help you out. They may say that you have to approach them via one of their accredited service centres - see www.xpartautoservicecentre.com/RVEa9e9d9e4f46a4323b8443382a341cc2a,,.aspx Presumably, members here who do servicing work with them will be able to advise you the best way to approach them. Failing that, I can recommend that you have a chat with Patrick Warner, MD at Sterling Automotive (see www.sterlingautomotive.co.uk/index.htm?) - not in your area I know, but very knowledgable about our cars and unfailingly helpful in my experience. Fingers crossed for you! Zircon/Nicholas |

Sorry it's been a while all, it's been a terrible few months of wild goose chases trying to find an engine.
They can't help me out with the scheme to keep more of our cars going unfortunately, and I did have a chat with those at sterling who were fantastically helpful. They confirmed based on the symptoms the car has that the diagnosis of a liner failure would be correct, meaning I could focus my efforts on finding an engine instead of trawling yet more garages after a consistent diagnosis. Chrissyboy, thanks. I tried the lads selling those engines and when I asked for some kind of method of proof with regard to the mileage, reg document, chassis number of the car, engine number so I could do a HPI check, anything, they went cold on me. They tried to take the order and payment immediately over the phone on the first call so I was immediately suspicious about the origin of the engine and why it needed to be sold so quickly. Each time I called they tried to force immediate sale. As a result I've been looking everywhere for an engine and found little suitable, though I might be on the right track now. Might. If anyone knows of any I'd be grateful. Thanks.

You may be familiar with this article, www.aronline.co.uk/index.htm?essaykseriesf.htm, if not give it a read. It raises some real interesting points with regard to the KV4.
